About the Conference
The Zimbabwe Institute of Geomatics is pleased to announce its upcoming conference focusing on “Community-Centered Urban Planning for Climate Adaptation,” to be held on 25 October 2024 in Kariba at the Tamarind Holiday and Conference Resort. This conference aims to bring together professionals, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss and share insights on empowering local communities through geospatial solutions for climate-resilient urban planning.
Call for Presentation Abstracts
We invite submissions of presentation abstracts related to the conference theme and its sub-thematic areas. Presentations should showcase innovative approaches, research findings, case studies, and best practices in the following areas:
Community Engagement and Participation in Urban Planning
Climate-Resilient Infrastructure Design and Management
Geospatial Technologies for Climate Risk Assessment and Adaptation
Capacity Building and Knowledge Transfer for Local Communities
Policy and Governance for Climate-Resilient Cities

Submission Guidelines:
Abstracts should be between 250-300 words in length.
Clearly indicate the chosen sub-thematic area for your presentation.
Include key objectives, methods/approaches, results (if applicable), and implications/relevance to the conference theme.
